This position requires accounting and derivative management experience. You are responsible for financial close related to derivatives and required coordination with segment accounting groups for Marine, Land and Aviation. Assist and supervise derivative Analysts.
Job Duties:
Oversees the day-to-day/month-end operations of the Derivative Settlement closing activities which include:
• Commodity derivative settlements and bookings
• Commodity derivative settlements summaries by segments
• Margin call balance reconciliations
• Embedded commodity derivatives allocation and reconciliation
• Intercompany entries for segments
• Foreign Exchange derivatives reconciliation
• Futures broker statements reconciliation
• Inventory hedge ineffectiveness for marine, land and aviation
• Commodity derivatives mark to market bookings based on deal type and segment
• Foreign Exchange derivatives m2m bookings and pushdown
• Intercompany push-down
• Intersegment netting
• Counterparty credit rating validation and fair value credit reserve calculations
• Accounting dashboards Oversee quarter-end accounting and financial statement related activities that include:
• Commodity hedge regression analysis
• FX hedge regression analysis.
FAS 133 Derivatives Disclosure
FAS 157 Fair Value and Level 3 Disclosures
FAS 161 Balance Sheet Disclosure, Income Statement Disclosure for hedging instruments/hedged items, non-designated derivatives, OCI Disclosure, Contingent Collateral Disclosure
• Hedge documentation review and update
• Balance sheet and P&L reconciliation by segment Assist with Derivative related activities and projects including
• Summarize and interpret trends
• SOX compliance and audits
• Statutory reporting
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Min. of 5 yrs experience in Accounting (CPA Preferred)
• Must have Derivatives Accounting Experience (proficient with FAS 133, FAS 157, and FAS 161)
