Location: GTA, Ontario, Canada Compensation: $70,000 to $75,000
POSITION SUMMARY:
The National Service Manager is responsible for the fleet management of three facilities on a national level. Based out of the GTA, the National Service Manager will oversee all fleet maintenance, liaising with internal and external partners to coordinate equipment repairs. The successful candidate will ensure Health and Safety standards are upheld and participate in all accident investigations. The National Service manager is a strong leader with superior communication and interpersonal skills.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Fleet management of a 24 hour facility with three shifts and a large fleet Direct reports include 3 Foremen and 35 mechanics Responsible for two additional national service centres Oversee fleet maintenance, including organizing warranty repairs and any third party work Develop relationships with vendors to build quotes and follow process of existing repairs Assign work activities by assessing, prioritizing and approving repair requests and projects while monitoring work flow Review and evaluate work results, methods, and procedures Implement and supervise Fleet Management System Maintain records and documentation, generating reports on equipment performance and failure trends Prepare fleet reports, review and analyze vehicle operation, maintenance and repair reports Make recommendations for all equipment replacement/purchases as needed Work with Parts Manager to ensure inventory levels are accurate and parts are charged correctly Overseeing scale inspection compliance (vehicle defects portion) Liaise with internal partners to coordinate equipment repairs and update on status of equipment Issuing and updating purchase orders Hire, train, motivate, evaluate, discipline and terminate maintenance staff Ensure Health and Safety standards are upheld Investigate accidents and document all repairs
SKILLS &; QUALIFICATIONS In addition to initiative, integrity, strong work ethic and being a team player:
Minimum of 5 years fleet management and maintenance experience Licenced Truck/Coach mechanic is a must Experienced in Fleet Management Systems Understanding of CLC Part 2 and WHMIS preferred Superior leadership and communication skills Organized with strong time management skills
