General Manager / Projects Head (Project Implementation and Construction)

To strengthen PI&C organization Supreme is willing to recruit an experienced professional as Deputy Director (PI&C) who will be subsequently succeed the present incumbent in next one year and operate as Director (PI&C) as a part of career growth plan. The position directly reports to the Director (PI&C) and works very closely with other techno-commercial Teams in Tendering, Sales & Marketing, Business Development, Commercials and Contracts, and other key external partners and associates.
Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
- Responsible for leading and managing P&L comprising portfolio of EPC project contracts from concept to commissioning in Power, Energy, Water and Infrastructure sectors. The Projects include Power generation (Gas, Hydro, Coal, Solar and Wind; Combined Cycle, Super-critical), Transmission Line (EHV- up to 500kV) and Sub-stations in Power sector; LNG Terminal, Mid-stream and LPG projects in Oil & Gas; Water systems, Urban Developments, Port etc.
- Directs multiple heads of projects, each responsible for a cluster of projects in Power generation, Transmission & Distribution, Oil & Gas, Water and Infrastructure from pre-contracts to post-contracts to Project close-out
- Drives implementing operational strategy and helps achieve strategic objectives in business growth, operational and financial parameters for Project Implementation and Construction through directing all phases of Projects and senior leadership teams comprising Heads of Projects, Functional heads in Engineering, Project Planning, Construction, Procurement and Logistics. Quality and EHS
- Effectively supports all pre-contract activities starting from feasibility studies, site selection, environmental and other related clearances from government and statutory bodies; Bid management process, Tender preparation, Cost optimization, risk evaluation and risk management system, and contributes to Bid contracts negotiation to ensure that project contracts received after being technically and financially evaluated
- Provides effective leadership to ensure that all projects are implemented according to contract scope, cost budget and time line; achieving key financial parameters- profitability, cash flow and working capital management
- Develops and implements project execution plan for project to project basis in strict adherence with project Quality, Health, Environment and Safety standards
- Implements best project management practices and procedures in respective functions for planning, scheduling, controlling and monitoring of project cost, time and scope; conducts reviews and reports to all stakeholders as per project execution plan
- Drives all necessary actions for mobilizing resource through expanding/timely ramping up project execution teams, plants & machinery, sub-contractors, vendors and service providers in time-cost-quality efficient manner
- Creates a culture of innovation and continuous improvement; motivates people through effective employee engagement, performance management and incentive scheme; builds competency through training and development
- Builds layers of leadership teams and develops succession plan with support from HR
- Provides leadership to multiple project implementation teams, ensures efficient delivery of projects within budget, in-time, in compliance with Quality, Environment Health and Safety plan; and within the mandates of Contractual boundary
- Manages efficiently financials of each projects and P&L of portfolio of projects, improves profitability; manages budget/plan/forecasting; manages cash flow and working capital; and improves IRR
- Manages all techno-commercial aspects of the projects efficiently right from Feasibility to delivery of projects, manages risks, mitigates all contractual obligation/liabilities by initiating timely mitigating process
- Provides all required techno-commercial supports in timely manner to Bid Management process, helps optimize cost and BOQ through coordinating respective internal teams and outsourced service providers, as required
- Reviews/monitors/controls implementation of all projects through structured planning, scheduling, project controls and monitoring process; provides MIS/project reports to all relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Initiates and drives continuous improvement process through introduction and implementation of best practices and procedures, develops competency through conducting training and development drawing support from corporate HR
- Possesses over 12 years extensive project management experience including at least 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience in general management (P&L) position. Has worked extensively and directed multiple projects in Power Generation, T&D, Oil & Gas and Infrastructure projects as project director; worked in multidisciplinary multi-cultured environment and delivered performance
- Should have worked in Power /Energy Industry as EPC contractor and possess high level of technical, project management and commercial skill
- Has driven Project Management Operations of multiple projects, led planning scheduling and project controls function in a structured/MNC organization. Possess proven track record of improving overall project performance within an organization
- Suitable candidate will be University graduate of Power, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, preferably with Project Management certification or wide range of Power Plant/Utilities/Oil & Gas projects experience
- Proven experience in leading teams, developing practice & procedures, mentoring individuals and developing competencies
- Should have hands on and collaborative approach, strong communication (written and verbal) skill in English and good presentation skill. Should have analytical bent with problem solver attitude blended with good interpersonal skill
- Person with experience in SE Asian environment will be a plus
- Age: At least 38 Years old
- $2,000 to $3,000 USD per month
