Job Description
Our Company is seeking to hire a Retail Buyer – Purchasing Manager with experience (Mall / Department Store) retail/Wholesale/and FMCG industries to join our Purchasing Department and who will be responsible for supervising and organizing our buyer/ purchasing team.
At least 8 years relevant experience in retail buyer / purchasing position with Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field are required.
In order to succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication skills and team player.
Buyer / Purchasing Manager Job Responsibilities:
* Developing and implementing purchasing strategies for retail store outlets.
* Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.
* Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
* Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
* Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.
* Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
* Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.
* Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.
* Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.
Purchasing Manager Requirements:
* Degree in business administration or any field.
* At least 8 years’ Experience as a Retail buyer / Purchasing Manager or in a similar position in a Retail / Wholesale / Fast Moving Consumer Goods industries (FMCG).
* Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
* Supervisory and management experience.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
* Strong planning and organizational skills.
* Flexibility - ability to work in both team works or independently
* With a valid passport
* Willing to work and be assigned in Lae City, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea
