Position Title:  UI/UX Designer expert in WordPress and designs functional web apps

Position Location: Remote 100% (WFH / Work from anywhere  / 40 hours a week required)

Pay Range / Details / Bonus: Base of $ 2,000.00  - $4,000.00 USD Monthly

WPMU DEV is  looking for a UI/UX Designer, to work with us at WPMU DEV to turn our websites and plugins into easy-to-use products for our clients.

We’re looking for some awesome UI/UX designers to join our Product Design Team.

UI/UX Designer tasks include gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements and building navigation components. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with design software and wireframe tools. If you also have a portfolio of professional design projects that includes work with web/mobile applications, we’d like to meet you.

Ultimately, you’ll create both functional and appealing features that address our clients’ needs and help us grow our customer base.

This is what you’ll be doing:

*   Designing user usable interfaces for SAAS applications (React-based) and WordPress-related products/services.

*   Updating existing products and services to bring them in line with our company’s modern shared style guide and working with our existing design system.

*   Spending a minimum of 40 hours every week working on cool projects.

Job responsibilities:

*   Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers

*   Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps

*   Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets

*   Build page navigation buttons and search fields

*   Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like

*   Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)

*   Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders

*   Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)

*   Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback

*   Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

*   3+ years of experience designing complex SAAS applications.

*   A solid understanding of WordPress, plugins, and how the ecosystem works with its’ opportunities and limitations.

*   Figma designers (only) who work well with Jira, Slack, and shared design libraries.

*   Comfortable working across multiple projects at once and liaising with your Product Manager.

*   Hard worker, real self-motivator, and team player.

*   A good communicator who proactively responds to emails and Slack messages.

You must be super familiar with WordPress, have experience in testing WordPress plugins and theme frameworks, know enough about MySQL and Git, understand the concept of black-box testing, white box testing, regression tests, unit testing, user testing, automated and manual testing, have sufficient knowledge on CSS, PHP and JavaScript to know how to narrow down possible sources/triggers of a bug/issue and write detailed steps on how to consistently reproduce it.

Note: This job advert isn’t looking for theme developers, or programmers – designers only who understand WordPress, please.
